Mwanamvekha urges cyclone Freddy survivors to care good care of children

Presidential candidate for the former governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Joseph Mwanamvekha, has advised survivors of Tropical Cyclone Freddy to take proper care of their children and send them to school once schools open.

Mwanamvekha – who is also parliamentarian for Chiradzulu South – made the remarks when he cheered and consoled people who were affected by the cyclone in the Southern Region.

This is part of his ongoing programme to assist survivors of the storm.

On Sunday, Mwanamveka people in areas of Group Village Heads Masuku, Kajaga, Namakhwiri and  Chiniko in Traditional Authority Mpunga area.

Other beneficiaries came from Namathiya, Muliva, Muyele, Masuku, Chongwe, Kazembe, Namakwiri, Muwa, Litunu, Himanya and Mkanda villages where people lost their property to the cyclone.

Traditional Authority Mpunga hailed the legislator for his unwavering kindness, generosity and the development that he has spearheaded in the area.

Meanwhile, Mwanamvekha has disclosed that he will continue with his programme in due course where he will be visiting in Phalombe, Blantyre, Mulanje and Thyolo districts, among others.
