The Stage is set, preparations have been finalised

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has announced that the polling will start at 6:00am and close at 4:00pm. A total of 17 presidential candidates will battle it out, but a tense competition is expected between the incumbent Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and former president, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

A total of 7,203,390 people registered to vote, comprising of 3,088,670 male and 4,114,720 female
