In a press release issued on Wednesday, Chihana and his spouse called for the renewal of continued peace among all believers in Malawi.

“My wife and I do realize that there can never be meaningful national development without peace. It is therefore our wish and prayer that the affectionate relations that exist amongst different faith groups in the country will continue to grow as the nation moves to greater success. May the spirit of Eid bring peace, opulence and happiness to your life,” reads the statement signed AFORD presidential press officer, Philip Kamangirah.
