TNM Corporate Affairs Manager Limbani Nsapato said the donation demonstrates the company’s appreciation for the role the media plays to advance business objectivity

“Our intervention is out of our appreciation for the role media plays in Malawi so World press freedom day is their big day and it was right and proper for us to be part of this great celebration,” he said.

In his remarks, the club’s president, Titus Linzi, said the donation will go a long way in their efforts to support wounded soldiers who fought world wars as well as elderly prisoners at Zomba Maximum Prison.

“We are very thankful for the donation and this will help to spice our day as we are celebrating World Press Freedom Day. And we have lined up a number of activities, among them to support our fathers who fought wars and sometimes they feel like they are not remembered enough.

“So we are going to cheer them and we have also plans to go to Zomba Maximum Prison to cheer elderly prisoners and lastly we will visit one orphanage center within six districts, which we operate as a club so this money will help us to accomplish our plans,” said Linzi.
