A motorcycle rider has died last night Saturday June 02,2024 after being hit by a motor vehicle in Lumbadzi.
According to public relations officer Sergeant Felix Kwinyani the victim has been identified as Innocent Madziayenda, 31, of Binala village, Traditional authority Chitukula in Lilongwe.
Kwinyani further said that It has been reported that Allan Menasi, 56, was driving a motor vehicle, Scania lorry, registration number MC 8321 from Kanengo direction heading to Lumbadzi,”Upon arrival at Kamuzu International Airport turn off – Total filling station entrance, he hit Madziayenda (now deceased) who was on unregistered Lifo motorcycle with a pillion passenger behind who was heading the same direction and was turning to the right side of the road. He added
He further explained that Following the impact, Madziayenda sustained head injuries and open fracture on the right leg and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Blessings hospital.
“Currently, the driver is in police custody waiting for paper work. Police in Lumbadzi is therefore advising all road users to adhere to road traffic regulations at all times.He added
