In an interview on Wednesday after putting to paper the new contract, the 24-year-old expressed his excitement about the contract extension, acknowledging the significance of continuing with such a prominent team.

Singo also reflected on the lessons learned from the 2024 season and emphasized the need for extra effort in the upcoming season to restore the team’s glory.

“I am excited to have extended my contract with a big team like Bullets. It’s not a mean achievement. 2024 has taught us a lesson and come next season, players will work extra hard to bring the team back to where it belongs,” Singo said.

Singo said he is eager to work under the new head coach, Peter Mponda.

Singo stated that he is ready to fully commit to Mponda’s leadership.

“I believe that every coach has a possibility. As a new coach, players are meant to obey his commands and respect him. We are sure that we will work well with Peter Mponda,” he added.

Commenting on Singo’s contract renewal, Mponda expressed his satisfaction, highlighting Singo’s hardworking nature and his crucial role in the team’s performance last season.

Mponda also praised Singo’s versatility on the field emphasizing the importance of long-term contracts for both players and the club.

“It’s very important to have players on long contracts because it provides security for the players and allows for long-term planning for the club. It’s easier for a coach to plan and have these players for this period. It’s very motivating,” Mponda explained.

Singo, who graduated from the team’s reserve side in 2022 has since registered 50 appearances for the senior team.

Apart from Singo, Bullets has also extended a contract for Blessings Mpokera with two years, and head coach Mponda has described him as a utility player who can fit in different positions.
