Phalombe Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), who is also Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joyce Mazalo, made the remarks on Thursday when she welcomed the new police officers from Limbe, Mtakataka and Mlangeni Police Training Schools.

Mazalo said: “Police is well known with discipline; as such, you are supposed to follow service procedures for you to graduate into high rate decorated professional officers.

“Make use of the lessons you will undergo. Avoid indulging yourself into immoral behaviours both on duty and off duty.”

Speaking earlier, Station Officer Senior Superintendent Marco Mvukuta asked the recruits to work hard and know their roles during their stay at the station and avoid absenteeism from work.

The officers were also told to avoid drug and substance abuse which can lead to misconduct and that they should report to relevant authorities when they meet situations that need urgent help.
