Civil Service United Strengthens Squad with Goalkeeper Signings for 2024 Season

Civil Service United Football Club has bolstered its squad ahead of the upcoming 2024 season football season, set to kick off in April, with the announcement of two new goalkeepers.

The Servants, eager to make a mark after their last trophy triumph in 2015, have secured the services of Blessings Juma from Extreme FC and Rahaman John, a free agent recently on loan at Bangwe All Stars from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony which took place Tuesday morning, club General Secretary, Edgar Chipalanjira, said the team’s head coach Abas Makawa recommended the bringing in of new players.

“We are pleased to report that we have signed two exciting goalkeepers as hinted ahead of the coming season. We thought of bringing these goalkeepers after going through the technical report by our coach Abas Makawa who recommended roping in new goalkeepers because we had a problem in this department,” said Chipalanjira.

Chipalanjira added that the team will soon unveil six other players in its quest to fight for honours in the forthcoming football season.

“We shall soon unveil two defenders, two midfielders, and two forwards as we steadily implement our technical plan. Our goal is to build a strong and resilient squad that will compete for honors this year. We promise our fans, followers, and sponsors their best season in the new millennium,” he said.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Civil Service United is poised to secure loan deals for Mphatso Magaleta and Emmanuel Saviel from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. Additionally, Righteous Banda, a former winger released by Bullets, is set to make a return to the club.

In the just ended season, the Servants displayed a poor perfomance having finished on position 8 of the 16 team Tnm Super League with 37 points.
