Two arrested over Indian hemp possession

Lingadzi Police in Lilongwe has arrested two people for allegedly being found in possession of Indian hemp commonly known as Chamba.

The Police have identified the two as Edina Samson, 33, and Luis Lisimba, 38.

Lingadzi Police Station, Assistant Public Relations Officer, Constable  Maria Kumwenda confirm the arrest on March 10, 2023, following a tip from well-wishers that the two sell Indian Hemp.

“Samson was found in possession of 2 kgs while Luis Lisimba was found in possession of 90 kgs of Indian hemp,” she confirmed.

Currently, the Police have since seized the Indian hemp.

The two are expected to appear before the court soon to answer charges of being found in possession of Indian Hemp without a license.

Samson hails from Disulundu Village in Traditional Authority (TA) Chensomba in Blantyre while Luis Lisimba hails from Mandiwa Village in TA Chigalu in Blantyre.
