Teachers from the beneficiary schools commended EMUNI for the gesture, and appealed for enhanced collaboration between government and the private sector in addressing infrastructure and material deficits in public schools.
One of the teachers at Chiuzira Full Primary School, Sarah Nkhoma, said government alone cannot resolve challenges rocking the education sector; hence, the need for a collaboration with other partners.

Nkhoma disclosed that most public schools lack essential infrastructure and resources to enhance learning outcomes and broader access, especially for underserved communities.
“Regular maintenance of classrooms is crucial one of such needs in most schools. Tidy classrooms are vital because they minimize health risks, reduce distractions, and foster a calming, focused learning environment that improves student concentration and academic performance. A clean, organized space also promotes mental well-being, reduces stress, and instills a sense of responsibility and pride among students,” she said.
A senior section head at Matapila Full Primary School, Harrington Sakhula, stressed that by pooling expertise and resources, government-private sector partnerships can help in improving school quality, expanding access to education, and enhancing learner achievement.
EMUNI is one of Malawi’s premier Christian institutions under the Evangelical Association of Malawi, offering a wide range of cross-disciplinary programs that are fully approved and accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
