Mighty Wanderers strikes gold
Mighty Wanderers Football Club can now breathe a sigh of relief following a signing of a sponsorship with Mukuru a financial service company.
Mighty Wanderers board secretary Humphreys Mvula told us in an interview that the deal includes naming rights of the Lali Lubani boys.
Mvula further said the Blantyre giants will rebrand to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
“The deal encompasses naming rights which means the 2017 TNM Super League Champions will rebrand to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC,” said Mvula.
According to Mvula, more details regarding the sponsorship will be revealed during the unveiling of the sponsorship on a date yet to be announced.
Mukuru’s Chief Executive Officer Andy Jury said in a press statement that this publication has seen that the agreement with Mighty Wanderers will boost brand awareness while demonstrating the company’s commitment to excellence, as well as its recognition of Africa’s rising global stature in both fintech and sport.
“We are excited to have struck a deal, in consultation with the Football Association of Malawi, with one of Malawi’s top Super League teams, the Mighty Wanderers, and with the naming rights, they will be called the Mighty Mukuru Wanderer,” said Jury.
Mighty Wanderers who last won the prestigious Tnm Super League are on position seven with 10 points from six played games.
Apart from sponsoring the Lalu Lubani outfits, Mukuru has also announced it will sponsor English premier league team Crystal Palace for the 2022/2023 season and a sponsorship arrangement with Springbok legend Tendai Mtawarira.
