Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has expressed his delight at the progress being made toward the recovery of the communities affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy in Mulanje.

The prophet had previously adopted eight camps in the district and provided relief items, including food and cash, to those who were hit the hardest.

Returning to the district on Friday to monitor progress, Bushiri was pleased to see that many of the affected households had completed building or renovating their homes, thanks to the support provided by his intervention.

“We supported them with food and we also helped them with cash to help them build or renovate their houses. As you can see, some have completed building, others are almost finishing and many have renovated their houses which is so impressive,” he said, speaking to journalists during his monitoring tour.

In addition to providing food and cash, Bushiri also distributed clothes to the cyclone survivors and revisited the Namulenga area, where he had previously provided support after communities pleaded with him for help.

The prophet advised them to follow the right procedures, including alerting the district council, to ensure that they receive the support they need.

Bushiri had hired a private plane from South Africa to help distribute relief items after some households in the district were completely isolated due to damaged roads and bridges.

Speaking about his efforts to support the communities affected by the cyclone, Bushiri said, “We are doing this because we care for our fellow human beings, and we want to make a positive difference in their lives.”

The prophet’s efforts have been praised by the people of Mulanje, who have expressed their gratitude for the support provided by Bushiri and his team. His intervention has helped to facilitate the quick recovery of the people he is supporting and has brought hope to those who were affected by the devastating cyclone.
