Social Welfare Officer for Chitipa, Joyce Luhana said they decided to give the certificate to Namuyemba CBO as they have passed all stages required for a CBO to be certified.

“For a CBO to be certified there are protocols we follow. For example, there is supposed to be a board of trustees, CBO executive committee and subcommittees,” she said.

“Above all, community participation is the best inspiration as it shows that the community is indeed interested in having a CBO hence the certification,” Luhana added.

One of the community members, Sadoki Mwambene said the organisation would help them in preparing their children for primary education through Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes.
