Partridge, Mbilizi roped in Cabinet

President Peter Mutharika has made two more additions to his Cabinet bringing the number of Ministers to five.  

Dr. George Partridge who once served as the Group Chief Executive of the conglomerate Press Corporation Limited plc. has been appointed as Minister of Industrialisation, Business Trade and Tourism.

Prior to his appointment on 1st November 2016, he was the Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Malawi a position he held from November 2006 to October 2016.

Before that, he served as Head of Treasury and Finance, General Manager and Deputy Chief Executive Officer having joined the bank in 1994.

He worked in various capacities at the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) for 11 years rising to the position of Director before joining National Bank.

Will be heading Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development: Mbilizi

Partridge was instrumental in the formation of the Institute of Bankers in Malawi, where he served as its first President.

He has over the years served on a number of private and public sector boards and national economic advisory committees. Before his appointment he was Chairman of the boards of Malawian Airlines and a Council Member at the University of Malawi.

Partridge holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Malawi and a graduate degree from the University of Southampton.

Roza Fatch Mbilizi who served as Deputy Commissioner General at Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) from July 2014 – June 2020, is the Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Minister.

She is a holder of a Master of Economic Studies Development Economics and International Development from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Social Science Economics and Computer Science from Chancellor College.
