Powerhouse International Church was founded and is being led by Reverend Dr. Clement Nkhoma and Lady Nancy Nkhoma.

The church has recently being conducting a series of crusades aimed at winning lost souls thereby complementing efforts by the law enforcement agencies to address rising crime rate in Blantyre.

Reverend Nkhoma justified the crusades that the church has a critical role to play in arresting crime in any nation.

“The crime rate is on the rise and the police can arrest the criminals, but the church can arrest the heart of a man before he commits the crime. We believe those crusades will bring a reduction in crime rate and violence in communities,” he said.

He stated that the crusades will be held under the theme: “Blantyre for Jesus Gospel Campaign” and is in response to God’s word in Mark 16 vs 15, which reads, and he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to everybody.”

Reverend Nkhoma said the crusades will take place in various townships in Blantyre, including Machinjiri, Bangwe and Soche, with the first crusade scheduled to take place at Makhetha Ground on the 26th and 27th of August 2023.

The crusades were spiced up by live performances from Kamuzu barracks and Great Angels Choir.

“As a church we believe in winning souls for Christ; the founder said. It is part of the great commission in Matthew 28 vs 19: Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are believing God for great things during these crusades. We believe a lot of people will be saved,” he said, emphasizing that Malawi is going through a lot of challenges and the church has a responsibility to uplift the people and encourage them not to give up and be good citizens of the nation.

Meanwhile, the church has organized Blantyre for Jesus Gospel Campaign Bangwe Chapter expected to take place at the Desert Ground from 30 September to 1 October 2023.
