Rumphi, Sable register first league wins as Eagles hold Bullets

Rookies Rumphi United and Sable Farming Football clubs have registered their first wins of the 2022 Tnm Super League season.

Rumphi United who were pointless from three games were 3-0 winners at Rumphi stadium against Waka Waka Tigers on Saturday.

Trouble Kajani scored a brace in the first half before Gerald Ngwira added a third goal on 75 minutes through a penalty.

Tigers had many scoring chances, but Rumphi United’s goalie and defenders were up for the game denying the visitors any goal.

With the win, Rumphi United is now on position 12 with three points from four games.

At Mpira Stadium, Sable Farming were winners over Zomba based soldiers Red Lions.

This was Lions’ first defeat of the season.

Emmanuel Rino scored first goal at 19 minutes from out side the box strike after Red Lions failed to clear a cross from George Nyirenda.

Christopher Gototo scored a second goal at 94 minutes to seal victory for the rookies.

Sable Farming is now on position eight on the log table with 5 points from four games.

Elsewhere, defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets came from behind to draw against current league leaders Blue Eagles.

Eagles scored first through John Malidadi Junior at 31 minutes after a quick throw in by Gaddie Chirwa to Shumacher Kuwali who crossed inside the box. A quick play that caugh Nyasa Big Bullets off guard.

Bullets equalized through Babatunde Adepoju who scored from a penalty on 37th minute of the game. This is the first goal for the Eagles to conceed this season.

Bullets has moved to second position on the table with seven points from three games, three points behind Eagles who have played four games.

In Mzuzu, Chiukepo Msowoya saved Mighty Wanderers from Lions of Kaning’ina, Moyale Barracks' jaws at Mzuzu Stadium.

Chiukepo scored the only goal at 33 minutes.

At Karonga Stadium, visitors Silver Strikers collected maximum points after defeating hosts Karonga United.

The Central Bankers scored through Nickson Mwase and Chawanangwa Kaonga.
