Upcoming artist Keith Scrap rocks horns with Gemini Major
Mzuzu based upcoming Hip-hop artist Keith Scrap real name Keith Kaunda said he was excited to share the same stage with an inter1 artist Gemini Major at Malombe Nest in Mangochi last weekend.
Gemini Major is a South African (SA) based Malawian Arts.
Speaking Monday in an interview, 18-year-old, second year student studying Bachelor of Commerce at DMI, said the music show gave him real experience in the music industry as it was his first time to be on a stage with a massive audience.
“At first I was nervous. But when I got on the stage, I was energized by support from the patrons. It was my biggest show since I started my music career and I take it to be one of my best experiences to be written in the book of my history,” Keith Scrap said.
He said the music show was lit as there were a lot of patrons who make it hot from the beginning and end of the show.
“It was a dream to perform with an inter1 artist on the same stage. And I was the only upcoming artist who performed at this show with Gemini Major,” he added.
According to Keith Scrap’s experience, Malawi has to be holding shows regularly to create platforms through which upcoming artists can be exposed to large audiences.
“Gemini Major really gave the audience the best vibes on the stage since he is familiar with facing large audiences,” he said.
The organizer of the show who is the owner of Zamunda Liquor Store in Mangochi, Lumumba Ziba said the audience enjoyed Gemini Major’s and supporting artists’ performances.
“The turn-out was good, however, the only setback was that the show was held within of Ramadan period but all in all we had good patronage,” Ziba said.
He then thanked all people who supported the show, particularly the manager of Gemini Major who made it possible for the show.
