The Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah has stressed on the need to stand together in unity, through shared and collective efforts in building a strong nation that will last for many generations to come.

Speaking during Pentecost International Christian Centre (PICC)’s Mega Sunday Service in Lilongwe, she said that nation building is not for government alone but all citizens.

Ansah stated that under the leadership of President Peter Mutharika, Malawi continues to uphold its identity as a God fearing-nation where faith remains crucial and his recognition of the role of the church and commitment to promoting moral and spiritual values, have helped in putting God at the centre of development.

The VP told the gathering that when she was appointed as his Deputy last year, he among others cited her integrity, loyalty and the fear of the Lord, her husband being a Bishop with her two daughters who are pastors as some of the reasons she was picked for the post.

According to her, all these are an indication that the fear of the Lord is at the centre of Government’s agenda.

“I accepted to be his running mate not to be part of a problem; but to be part of the solution; I will remain in government to be part of the Presidency of the nation; as the Vice President that fears the Lord as a Vice President that shuns corruption.

“Indeed as a nation we are reminded that our strength does not come from policies and programmes, but from our collective reverence for God, and our commitment for righteous living”

She therefore called on the nation to reject jealousy, corruption, dishonesty and spreading of false rumours.

The VP stated that the church is part and parcel of nation building hence should not conform to the world noting that the church continues to receive money from politicians without caring to know where it’s coming from.

She indicated that this has compromised it making it to be learning from the world instead of the world learning from the church.

According to the Vice President, the theme of the Convention “Let us rise up and build” drawn from Nehemiah 2: 8, remains relevant and continue to speak powerfully in people’s lives.

During the event, Ansah bought three books authored by PICC’s Senior Pastor Esau Banda on auction at K5 million.

“Let me also congratulate Pastor Esau Banda for the new books that have been launched today. Your commitment to write 115 books is highly highly commendable as these books are not only addressing spiritual needs but rather politically”

She then challenged Banda to be free to ask where she got the money for buying the books and pledged that she will never bring blood money in the house of God.

The VP indicated that just like PICC, Christ Citadel International Church where she worships does not depend on foreign donations to construct its buildings or run its operations.

Quoting the scriptures in Daniel, she advised that those who love God do great exploits in life therefore challenged people on the need to learn how to make money, grow it and save it.

PICC Overseer Pastor Banda together with his wife Pastor Loyce gifted Ansah with a large portrait of the church building called the Camp of God Cathedral and she pledged to given 100 bags of flour for disadvantaged people from her Foundation.

Despite her busy schedule, Banda said he  was delighted to welcome Malawi’s Vice President to the Thanksgiving Mega service as the church was commemorating its 16th anniversary and closure of the first ever Annual Global Conference (AGC).

“Madam Vice President, we want to sincerely and deeply thank you for honouring our invitation to join us this morning as we celebrate PICC’s 16th anniversary as well as we mark the closure of the Annual Global Convention (AGC) celebrations the first of its kind in the history of this church.

‘We are grateful to you for making time to come and worship with us in the midst of your very very busy schedule.

“In addition to being a woman of God yourself and a servant of God, you could have chosen to be in your local church on a morning like this. When we consider all this, it is clear that your coming to PICC is a demonstration of your great humility and it’s also a demonstration of your deep love for the body of Christ in its diversity.”

He spoke on the need to acknowledge the only true God through the ministration of his word and to celebrate the closure of the AGC where so many wonderful things happened showing his presence.

PICC was launched on 7th march 2010 had its church building officially dedicated by Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God fondly called Daddy G.O. in March 2024.

The Founder reminded the congregation that God deserves continuous thanksgiving for his faithfulness on PICC and the milestones attained over the years.

The Mega service also coincided with the launch of three new spiritual books for the edification of God with titles such as “Divine encounters, Keys of fulfilling a vision, and The ministries of the hand of God authored by the Senior Pastor.

Pastor Loyce Banda bought the three books on auction at K3 million. Traditionally, all the proceeds of books go towards church construction works.
