Prior to the game, Bullets after playing 26 games only required 6 points in ordered to be crowned champions.

From the onset, Blue Eagles looked determined as they matched Bullets in every manner with intentions of not sitting back to absorb the pressure.

Blue Eagles’ MacDonald Lameck was the first to make an attempt on goal, a shot that went well wide after the 3rd minute while Bullets exchanged scintillating passes to free the attacking lanes, a plan that seemed to work as Yankho Singo’s was able to craft through balls in Ephraim Kondowe’s path.

Blue Eagles had the better first half after limiting the visitors with their disciplined defensive line up as well as registering more chances through Paul Master, Maxwell Gustava and Jacob Roberts.

Alick Lungu was the first of many substitutes Bullets made in the second half with his introduction inducing a new fighting spirit.

Tonic Viyuyi had a golden chance when he shot from close range only for Richard Chimbamba to produce an excellent save.

John Soko proved his heroics once again in the 67th and 71st minute when he denied efforts from Maxwell Phodo and substitute Stanley Biliati.

In a post-match interview, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Gaffer, Calisto Pasuwa noted that it was detrimental to have lost points but alluded the struggles to crumpled fixtures together with poor officiating which has also lead to the injuries in his squad.

“It was a game of few chances we were using the long ball and the opponent was strong with the long ball hence we could not score,” he said.

Pasuwa further expressed relief ahead of the international break with assurance that the team will be refreshed ahead of the final crucial games against Karonga United, Dedza Dyanmos and Silver Strikers.

On the other hand, Coach for Blue Eagles, Elia Kananji hailed his charges for giving a hearty performance while reiterating the team’s intentions of defeating MAFCO FC in their last game in order to also secure a top 8 finish.

“It was a game that could have gone either way they came flat out just as we did, am sure the supporters enjoyed the game,” he said.

Bullets are 1st on the log table with 56 points from 27 games, Mighty Mukuku Wanderers are 2nd with 54 points from 28 games while Blue Eagles are 8th with 35 points.
