The Officer In-Charge for Mchinji Police Station, Mr John Wilson Nkhoma SACP appreciated the efforts put up together by chiefs and communities on the project today, July 23, 2024, when he inspected the project, lying on the verge of its completion.

The O/C expressed the need for the district to have more police formations to match the ratio with the growing population of people in the district, and for police to serve efficiently.

According to the Councilor for the area, Mtope ward, Henry Nyamaulo, the project began three years ago and is being funded by the Government of Malawi through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
“We attribute the development to our concerted efforts by the Village Development Committee(VDC),Area Development Committee (ADC), Simphasi and subordinates, and the Mchinji Central legislature Honourable Jephta Mwale who are actively committed to the project” Nyamaulo added.
Speaking during the inspection ,Traditional Authority Simphasi stated that his community has been longing to have police to beat the distance endured in seeking police services at Kamwendo, Mikundi and Guileme.
Simphasi later thanked the O/C for inspecting the project and pleaded with the people of community to jealously take care of the facility.
