Daniel Daka is MRA’s new Commissioner General
The Board of Directors of the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has announced Daniel Dominic Daka, as the new Commissioner General effective 20th August, 2024
Daka replaces John Bizwick who retired in August this year following the expiration of his contract

According to a press release by the revenue collecting body, Daka is a seasoned tax legal practitioner with over 20 years of management experience.
“His extensive background in legal affairs and tax administration will be invaluable in his new role. He assumes this position after serving as Director of Legal Services in the Ministry of Finance since 2022”.

The press release further indicates that Douglas Katchomoza has been appointed as the new Executive Director, Corporate Services.
“Mr. Katchomoza brings over 20 years of experience in Customs management. His deep understanding of Customs operations and strategic management will greatly benefit MRA as we continue to advance our strategic objectives” it reads.
The appointments underscored the Board’s commitment to drive the organization forward during this critical period of growth and transformation.
The Board congratulated the two new senior executives on their new appointments and wished them success in their roles.
