The DPP UK Wing has held talks with Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah in Nottingham, United Kingdom, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Malawi’s development agenda and strengthening the party’s unity abroad.

The meeting, which took place at Dr. Ansah’s private residence, provided an opportunity for the two sides to share experiences and discuss ways the diaspora can meaningfully contribute to the Democratic Progressive Party’s programmes and national development efforts.

Speaking during the meeting, DPP UK Wing chairperson Dr. Kennedy Nkhoma congratulated President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and Vice President Dr. Ansah on their victory in the September 16 elections, describing it as a significant milestone for the party and the country.

“This gathering shows we’re all connected, no matter where we are. We’re all in this together, and we’re committed to making Malawi progress,” Dr. Nkhoma said, highlighting the importance of diaspora involvement.

He added that members of the DPP UK Wing remain dedicated to working with the party leadership to advance Malawi’s socio-economic and political development.

As a sign of goodwill and appreciation, the two sides exchanged gifts, symbolising mutual respect and continued cooperation between the DPP UK Wing and the party’s leadership in Malawi.

In her remarks, Dr. Ansah thanked the UK-based supporters for their continued commitment and support, stressing that Malawians living abroad play a crucial role in promoting unity, investment and development in the country.

She urged the diaspora to remain engaged and to continue working closely with the party to help drive Malawi’s development agenda.

The meeting concluded with both sides pledging to strengthen collaboration and maintain close ties in pursuit of the party’s goals and the country’s progress.
