FCB Nyasa Big Bullets stumble again

Fading TNM Defending Champions, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets continue their poor form following their 2-1 away loss to Karonga United 2-1 on Sunday at Karonga Stadium.

Vividly, the absence of TP Mazembe exports, Patrick Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma within the Bullets circles was having an impact and their CAF Champions league game against Red Arrows of Zambia will be another test for the Blantyre giants.

With the defeat, the people’s team has drifted away, and they are 16 points behind current league leaders, Silver Strikers who had a hard-earned win over debutants, FOMO 1-0 at Areas 47’s Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

Patrick and Lanjesi missing in action for Bullets

Bullets’ problems of unpaid dues are far from over taking into account that they have managed to win only four games from 14 league games played for the season.

There are still under currents within the team and the players have betrayed their commitment they made after receiving their dues that they will return to winning ways.

The Tuesday win over FOMO 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium gave false hopes to their faithfuls that good winning days were back without knowing that “Iponga road block” laid a head.

Bullets went ahead with striker, Babatunde Adepoju goal after 28 minutes before Karonga’s, Saulos Moyo levelled the scores after 45+3 minutes.

Karonga’s Blessings Mwalilino hit the hammer blow to Bullets after 69 minutes to inflict them second defeat of the season away from home and their first defeat was at home against Silver 0-1.

They are still on fifth position with 20 points while Karonga United have moved to position 10 from 11 with 15 points.

With a single game to wind up the season, Bwandilo giants, Silver Strikers are firmly on course for the title chase as they leave second placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 11 points clear following their 0-0 draw against Mafco in Chitowe.

The lone goal for Silver was scored by Duncan Nyoni after 79 minutes.

Silver will travel to face Moyale barracks at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday to conclude their first round games of the season and are still unbeaten.

Mzuzu City Hammers humbled Chitipa United with a 1-0 beating to go third on the log with 24 points from and Kamuzu Barracks has dropped to fourth.

With the defeat, Chitipa has gone down one step down to position 15 from 14 with nine points.

Three teams in relegation zone are Chitipa with nine points, Bangwe All Stars eight points and anchors, Baka City with seven points.
