Goshen City has officially launched a groundbreaking Capacity and Skills Transfer Program as part of its sponsorship partnership with the Miss Malawi pageant.

The initiative is designed to empower the Miss Malawi organisation and selected Malawian service providers with world-class skills in event production, pageantry coaching, and professional catwalk development.

The intensive program brings together world-renowned industry experts, including Alice Rowlands Musukwa, a celebrated Zambian international model and pageant mentor who has revolutionised Zambia’s Pageantry Abiott Muwala, a leading Zimbabwean fashion designer and pageant stylist Jo Manuel, an internationally recognized pageant producer known for Miss Botswana and other global pageant productions.

These experts will train the Miss Malawi team in stage management, fashion curation, contestant grooming, runway skills, creative direction, and production planning—setting a new benchmark for pageantry excellence in Malawi.

Speaking during the announcement in Lilongwe, Godfrey Kambewa, Head of Sponsorships and Partnerships for Miss Malawi, highlighted the significance of the partnership.

“This program is transformational for Malawi’s creative economy. We are building real capacity skills that will not only elevate Miss Malawi but position local professionals to compete on a regional and global stage. We are grateful to Goshen City for investing in skills, not just sponsorship. This is legacy-building.”

Prophetess Mary Bushiri, representing Goshen City, also emphasized the vision behind the initiative.

Bushiri: The initiative will equip Malawi’s creative talent with tools to shine globally

“Our commitment goes beyond sponsorship, our goal is empowerment. By bringing international experts to share knowledge, we are equipping Malawi’s creative talent with tools to shine globally. Goshen City believes in investing in people, in national pride, and in platforms like Miss Malawi that elevate our country’s image,” she said.

The program marks a major milestone for Malawi’s creative and events industry, fostering collaboration between Southern African pageant powerhouses and empowering young creatives and women in leadership.

The Miss Malawi finals are set to take place on 13th December in Lilongwe at Pearl Convention Center, where the winner will walk away with a combined price package value of fifty-million-kwacha courtesy of Goshen City.
