Police in Kanengo, Lilongwe, have arrested 11 suspects in connection to a spate of robberies within the policing area.
The past few days have seen criminals moving around in groups while carrying offensive weapon and invading different places.
Some of the targeted places include school campuses such as Pentecostal Life University where they attacked security guards, stealing millions worth of assorted items in the process.
Among the suspects is Daglous Mataka Mofart, 24, popularly known as Mchekecheke, who is connected to the murder that happened at Shandong Luqiao Group Ltd (China Construction Company), Magwero, where a gang also stole a rifle.

During the arrests, the officers have also recovered various items such as eight sets of desktop computers, six plasma TV screens, two water pumps, six solar panels and other items.
The suspects, all residents of Ngomani and Mgona in the area, will appear before court as soon as paper work is through.
Police wish to thank all well-wishers who have helped with providing information leading to the suspects’ arrest. Police further assures members of the community that it remains committed to combating crime in the area.
