Versatile musician Kim of Diamonds has cleared the air on rumours that she has signed a deal with Nigerian record label Mavin Records.

Social media has been buzzing with news of the supposed signing after pictures emerged of Kim posing outside the label’s offices in Lagos.

However, Kim of Diamonds has now clarified that she is not signed to Mavin Records, despite the rumours.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, she said: “KIM of Diamonds management would like to clarify that KIM of Diamonds has not signed to Mavin Records, contrary to rumours circulating in the media.”

Explaining the reason for her visit to the label’s offices, Kim said that she had attended the Music Business Academy for Africa programme.

The platform is dedicated to developing a more informed and empowered workforce for the African Music and Entertainment industry, and Kim had the opportunity to learn from industry experts and Mavin Records executives.

In a social media post, Kim thanked her fans for their congratulatory messages, but felt it was necessary to set the record straight before the rumours spread any further.

“My country people have been congratulating me after seeing that pic of me outside Mavin Records. I just wanted to clear the air before the favour asking hits the fan,” said Kim.

Mavin Records boasts of a roster of award-winning legends and superstar artists such as Don Jazzy, Rema, Johnny Drille, Ayra Starr, LADIPOE, Crayon, Magixx, Bayanni, Boy Spyce, and DJ Big N.

The label, founded by legendary producer Don Jazzy, has produced some of the most definitive music and artists in African music history, including Dr. Sid, Wande Cole, Tiwa Savage, and Reekado Banks.
