Kwelepeta criticized for implicating Karonga citizen in MPs’ vehicles attack

Karonga residents have attacked Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Zomba Malosa, Grace Kwelepeta for implicating the district’s citizen, Isaiah Mhango as a person who deflated MPs’ vehicles at Parliament.

On Sunday through MPs political forum, Kwelepeta who is also the victim of the incidence alleged that Mhango was behind the vehicles’ attack.

“So, this guy is free?” Asked Kwelepeta on the forum while attached to Mhango’s picture.

However, after seeing the screenshot of her saying, number of residents said the move shows how Kwelepeta and DPP hate the district.

On one of the district’s WhatsApp groups, the residents questioned Kwelepeta for mentioning Mhango while the CCTV footage failed to identify the true identity of the suspect.

“DPP has been against Karonga district for so long. They take us as criminals that’s why it was so easy for Kwelepeta to implicate innocent Karonga citizen,” said Paul Mwakihana.

Lucy Kamanga on her side said the DPP MP Kwelepeta would have investigate the behavior of Mhango before accusing him.

“Even if the suspect was from Karonga Mhango would not have been the one. When we talk of non-violent person Mhango is one of them,” said Kamanga.

Mhango is yet to comment on the matter.

But some social commentators have asked Kwelepeta to leave the matter in the hands of police to deeply investigate.
