Lilongwe City Council (LCC) has said it is the responsibility of everyone to make Lilongwe city a liveable sustainable city that everyone opts for.
Lilongwe city council CEO Dr Macloud Kadammanja said this Lilongwe on Tuesday during a press briefing of the Lilongwe City Summit, which will be held on March 15 under the theme: ‘My City My Responsibility, Together Building The City We Want’.
He said the city summit is offering an opportunity where everyone can have a say on how the city should develop on issues pertaining to service delivery, actual infrastructural development of Lilongwe City.
“The way the theme is, it is suggesting that this city summit is not a platform where we sit down and point fingers at each other because there has already been a lot of negative energy and it is high time we start harnessing the positive energy that does exist.
He said they know that various stakeholders have brilliant ideas that contribute to proper development of the city.
He said this summit is going to offer an opportunity to the residents from all walks of life, and said it is an opportunity where ideas will be shared and showcase within a short time what can be achieved.
“It is summit that we will have tangible results at the end of the day where by at the end of the activity we should be able to come here and look at the development that we will achieve as a result of the sum Lilongwe City Mayor Richard Banda said,” he said.
Lilongwe City Mayor Richard Banda said as the day is coming closer he is urging every citizen to take the full lead of this summit for it will be of the benefit of everyone in the city.
“We have invited a lot of stakeholders so that we can share ideas on how best we can improve our city and develop our city,” he said.
