Heavy rains have swept away critical bridges, crippling travel across Malawi. The Roads Authority’s racing against time with Mota-Engil and China Civil Engineering Corp to restore connectivity.

Bridges in Kasungu’s Mpasadzi and Nkhotakota’s Dwangwa, Kaombe, Ling’ona, and Nchandilo are down. 13 councils nationwide are reeling from the damage.

Mota-Engil’s no stranger to big projects here – they’ve worked on Thyolo-Makwasa-Thekerani-Makhanga road and Lilongwe’s Old Airport-Kasiya Spur road.
