MEC Director of Media and Public Relations, Sangwani Mwafulirwa, said in a statement issued on Sunday described the advertisement as unequivocally fake, and he has since encouraged the public not to respond to it nor share it further in their networks.
“At MEC, we take great pride in conducting our operations with utmost transparency and professionalism. We exclusively disseminate our official advertisements through trusted and conventional media channels. All our official communications including job advertisements are also posted on our website www.mec.org.mw and our verified social media platforms,” reads the statement in part.
Mwafulirwa urged well-meaning Malawians to help the Commission to combat and halt the spread of malicious misinformation by sharing this refutation message with family, friends, and social networks.
Together, we can ensure that accurate and reliable information reaches everyone,” thus concluded the statement.
