Police nub illegal medical drugs dealer in Mchinji

A 32-year-old Patrick Zulu is in police custody in Mchinji district for allegedly being found in possession of medical drugs without a license.


According to Mchinji Police Spokesperson Limbani Mpinganjira, Zulu was searching for a market to sell the drugs at Chipumi Trading Centre in the district on Wednesday.

Mpinganjira added that the law enforcers arrested the suspect after following up on a tip-off from well-wishers and recovered assorted medical drugs in the process.

“Following the report, Police moved in immediately and arrested the suspect leading to the recovery of assorted medical drugs which include 11 bottles of Triclofeni, Maganism tablets, polyglactin tablets, Pillion tablets, Farejero tablets, Abandazon tablets, Omeprazole capsules, uninac diclofenac packets, capsules, and Ibucup tablets, among other medical drugs,” said Mpinganjira.

Mpinganjira added that Zulu will appear before the court soon to answer a charge of being found in possession of medical drugs without a license.

Police have meanwhile thanked communities in the district for their continued efforts in sharing information on crime.

Zulu hails from Sigileta Village in Traditional Authority M’duwa in the district.
