Despite some rumours circulating on the social media on his supposedly cancellation of the African tour, the iconic reggae Godfather Burning Spear is geared to perform in Malawi on 26th October at Civo Stadium.
The organizers of the Burning Spear Event, Sound Addicts Live are urging members of the public to disregard such rumors insisting that the Burning Spear’s “One People Africa Tour 2024” is still intact.
Shadreck Kalukusha, Managing Director of Sound Addicts Live said the show will take place on October 26, at Civo Stadium in the Capital City Lilongwe.
He clarified that the rumors are coming in due to misunderstandings that were there between the Jamaican reggae artist and Kenyan music promoters which have been resolved now, and this will not affect the show to take place here and Malawians should expect that the icon is coming.
“Let me confirm here that Burning Spear is coming to Africa and his show at Civo Stadium on 26th is still on. I understand that people have these speculations because of production misunderstandings that happened in Kenya but they resolved the issues and he insisted that he’s coming” he assured
Kalukusha further indicated that preparations for the show are now going well and are at an advanced stage.
“The preparations are going on well. We are pretty much ready for the show to happen and the main focus right now is marketing. We are happy that as of now the tickets, hotel accommodations have been secured”
This will be part of Burning Spear’s tour to Africa which will include countries such as Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya to celebrate unity, peace and love which is the core message of his music.
The legendary Reggae artist is coming with a full band, comprising 17 people from Jamaica.
He will however be supported by some local artists such as Skeffa Chimoto, Sangie, Black Missionaries, Born Afrikan, Zembani and Sean Morgan to mention but a few.
