Star midfielder Madinga bids farewell to Mighty Wanderers
Analysts have described his departure from Wanderers as a huge blow bearing in mind that the team is preparing to compete in the Confideration of African Football (CAF) tournament
Mighty Wanderers FC have confirmed that midfielder Francisco Madinga will leave the club following the expiry of his contract on August 6, 2025.
In a statement released by the club on Wednesday, the Nomads said Madinga had informed management of his decision not to renew his contract as he intends to pursue a new opportunity with a club in Georgia, where he previously played.

The club expressed gratitude for Madinga’s contributions, saying his service and dedication were instrumental during his time with the team.
Sports analyst Parry Chinyama described Madinga’s departure as a setback, especially as Wanderers prepare to compete in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournament.
“Madinga being an experienced player, it could have been better for him to play the CAF tournament as recently he has performed well in the TNM Super League games,” said Chinyama.
Madinga initially joined Mighty Wanderers in 2019 before moving abroad to play in Georgia and Botswana.
He rejoined the Nomads in 2023, bringing with him international experience and skill that strengthened the midfield.
