The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) says it has launched disciplinary hearings over unsporting conduct which happened on April 13, 2025, at Dedza Stadium during a Tnm Super League Match between hosts Dedza Dynamos and Mzuzu City Hammers Football Club.
There was a footage making rounds on social media after the game showing a Mzuzu City Hammers supporter, under police escort, was harassed by a group of Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos fans over allegations of using juju.
In a statement, SULOM has expressed “deep concern” regarding the incident, reaffirming its commitment to promoting respect, integrity, and fair play across all matches in the country’s top-tier football competition.
Following a thorough review of video footage, SULOM confirmed it has launched disciplinary proceedings against the individuals involved, in line with existing league rules and regulations.

“As league administrators, SULOM has reviewed the videos of the incidents and has initiated appropriate disciplinary processes in accordance with applicable rules and regulations,” the statement read.
SULOM has further issued a strong reminder to all stakeholders in the sport—including supporters, club officials, players, and teams—about the importance of maintaining professionalism and ensuring the safety and security of all participants.
“We expect all participants to act in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism,” the league emphasized.
No specific details about the nature of the misconduct or individuals involved were disclosed, but SULOM assured the public that necessary action will be taken to uphold the integrity of the game.
