New council to clamp down on fraudulent estate agents, protect public from scams

For years, property scams have been widespread in Malawi’s cities and towns, agents have sold land they do not own, rented out properties without the owners’ knowledge, or disappeared with large deposits from hopeful homebuyers. The result: lost savings, legal limbo, and broken dreams.
