Police in Nkhata Bay have arrested four men for allegedly being found with 2,400 litres of petroleum products without a valid license. Authorities say the suspects were attempting to smuggle the fuel to Mozambique and Tanzania using water transport. They are expected to appear in court soon to answer charges.
According to Nkhata Bay Police Publicist, Kondwani James, the victim is identified as Geoffrey Manda, a businessman from Kavuzi Trading Centre in the district who was hijacked while driving his Toyota Voxy and robbed of K2.5 million.
