He made the sentiments on the sidelines of a visit by Minister of Local Government, Richard Chimwendo Banda, to the city to appreciate the progress of the construction project.
Maunde said as council they visit the project every month from the stadium where the contractor will give a scope of work on what he intend to do on that particular month so as a council they just make follow-ups on challenges and success”
“This visit is a boost to us as Zomba City Council because it assures us of government commitment towards the stadium,” he said.

In his remarks, Chimwendo Banda emphasized on the need to increase the capacity of the stadium, saying Zomba, as a city, a capacity of 5, 000 was smaller.
